WordPress.com today announced via a blog post that it has added .CO as a new top-level domain to its Custom Domains. .CO will now be available for WordPress users at $25/year. Other TLD options available at WordPress.Com are .ME,.COM, .NET and .ORG.
Existing WordPress users can register a .CO domain name directly from their dashboard. Private Registration for domain purchase will cost an additional $8.
Interested new WordPress.com users have to signup at WordPress.com’s signup page first, fill out their details on the form and then register a .CO domain name from their dashboard.
” A .CO domain name is short and memorable, making it a great option for your WordPress.com website or blog,” Cheri Lucas Rowlands, Editor, WordPress.com in an official blog post.
Earlier this month, Domain marketplace and monetization provider Sedo released a report titled “.CO Market Report: A Look Back at Three Years of .CO on the Domain Name Market”, which showed significant growth and success of the .CO domain extension within three years of its launch.
