Software AG, an enterprise management software developer, today announced that it has acquired LongJump, a Cloud Platform vendor based in Santa Clara, CA. Software AG plans to use LongJump’s Platform-as-a-Service capabilities which allow applications to be deployed in public or private clouds, on-premise or to any mobile device very rapidly.

IT groups often face resource constraints when they try to digitize their enterprise due to lack of agility and responsiveness needed by end customers.

LongJumps’s application development process is very streamlined as it uses models and templates and requires minimal coding skills. This ensures end-user, self-service application development, a process by which Software AG’s clients, i.e. enterprises, can build flexible, situational and process-driven applications in the cloud with minimal development times and hence address ever changing business demands with great robustness.

“The digital enterprise is all about real-time business insights driving fast decisions and faster reactions,” said Wolfram Jost, CTO, Software AG. “With this latest acquisition we have taken a major step in optimizing both the business knowledge and IT skills needed to develop flexible, business process driven, situational applications and deploy them rapidly wherever they are needed.”

LongJump’s technology is complementary to Software AG’s ARIS, Terracotta and webMethods, product suites extending the Software AG’s business value both within existing enterprise customers and to SMEs.

Financial details of the acquisition haven’t been disclosed yet. Software AG will release a full road-map of LongJump’s integration with its services very soon.
