Softaculous Ltd., now has 300 apps in their library. Several new scripts were added and outdated disabled in the process to make the library better. In a recent interview with DailyHostNews, Mr. Pulkit Gupta, CEO, Softaculous did mention plans to introduce new scripts as per review suggestions of partners and end users.
Softaculous Auto Installer integrates into popular hosting control panels like cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin, H-Sphere and Interworx and allows the user to install any application by the click of a button and also upgrade when a new version is available. The categories of scripts include blogs, forums, micro blogs, wikis, social networking, image galleries, ERP, Project Management, Educational, etc.

The applications available in the Softaculous apps library are WordPress, b2evolution, StatusNet, Drupal, Joomla, Concrete5, phpBB, MyBB, SMF, bbPress, Coppermine, Gallery, Mediawiki, DokuWiki, TikiWiki, Elgg, Dolphin, OpenX, SquirrelMail, LimeSurvey, Piwik, Mantis, SugarCRM, WHMCS, PrestaShop, Magento, CraftySyntax, osTicket, Moodle, Claroline, etc.
Softaculous is available in two versions-Free product and Premium product having 54 and 300 apps respectively.
“We always welcome suggestion for new scripts because we feel every promising script should be given a chance. We review the suggested scripts and add if we think the script will be useful for users.” said Punit Varia, Script packaging head at Softaculous. “We have many more apps to be added soon.”
Recently the company also released AMPPS – A Windows stack of Apache, MySQL, PHP, PERL, Python and Softaculous. Users, especially developers, can use this software stack to install any application on their Desktops. AMPPS also has two PHP binaries and users can switch between the latest PHP version and a legacy PHP version by the click of a button.
