Cloud services provider OnApp today announced it’s partnership with Dell for creating three pre-tested cloud packages. The said cloud packages are aimed at providing web hosting companies , telecommunications companies and MSPs with a swift and streamlined process of cloud services creation and their delivery to market.
Out of three packages , two are for small and one for large cloud deployments, thus providing, as OnApp terms it “cloud business in a box,’ which eliminates the complex process of building the cloud infrastructure from scratch and helps organizations start with the business of selling cloud services.
The two smaller packages are based on Dell EqualLogic storage and OnApp Storage (Details Below). Package for larger cloud deployments is based on Dell Compellent storage.
All of the packages are highly scalable and allow addition of host servers, networking and storage with increase in demand. In a recent interview with DailyHostNews, Mr. Kosten Metreweli, Chief Commercial Officer, OnApp did emphasize on OnApp Storage’s scalability saying “It really allows storage to grow as the service provider’s cloud grows.”
Check out the video below to see Mr. Paul Brook, Programme Manager, Dell talk about Dell’s partnership with OnApp and the new pre-tested hardware packages.</p
All of the packages come with:

- Fully managed OnApp Cloud platform installation.
- Pre-installed systems management.
- Dell ProSupport™ services on all the hardware.
- OnApp 24×7 support for OnApp Cloud.
Some additional benefits of the packages are:
- Swift deployment.
- 15 minute SLA for cloud platforms.
- Fully managed installs and upgrades.
- Choice of distributed and centralized SAN options to suit differing application use cases.
- Full-featured cloud – Auto-scaling, load-balancing, automated provisioning, utility billing, CDN, control panel & API access, and more.
Detailed features and specification of each package are as follows (Maximize the images for best readability):
“Our approach has always been about making it as fast, painless and cost efficient as possible for service providers to bring cloud services to market and become profitable, said Mr. Kosten Metreweli, Chief Commercial Officer, OnApp.
“Dell is a great partner because they’ve put a lot of thought into how their hardware can best support our customers. Our goal is to eliminate barriers to success in the cloud market, and now we can offer a complete package to get the job done quickly, without the hassle of worrying about the specific hardware configuration you need,” he added.
Very recently, OnApp launched CDN.net, a customizable and usage-based Content Delivery Network. OnApp Cloud v3.0 was rolled out late February this year with VM support in order to helps cloud providers build SANs.
