Citing many vital statistics from the Parallels SMBs Cloud Insights report that indicated a rapid growth in SMBs buying cloud services, the session titled “Delivering innovation in your cloud offers,” had Mr. John Zanni, VP – Marketing and Alliances, Parallels emphasizing on how most of the opportunity to grow lies in emerging economies, rather than the developed markets.

Parallels had a session by Mr. David Dzienciol, Regional Vice President and General Manager (Asia Pacific), Parallels yesterday as well.

The SMB market, growing 3 times faster than the mature market, will overtake mature market size in hosting, communication and collaboration by 2014. Statistics also showed that SMBs in emerging markets are 6 times more willing to adopt new cloud services, when compared to their counterparts in developed countries, thus making them an all-together different domain which needs to be targeted differently.

While up-selling and cross-selling existing customers is the go-to-market strategy in developed economies, SMBs in India need to be first educated about cloud services and then offered entry level pricing and bundles to increase the cloud adoption.

“Parallels makes it easier for service providers to grow and profit from the SMB Cloud with service delivery softwares, expertise, and partner ecosystem,” said Mr. John.

He talked about how Parallels product enable seam seamless distribution across the SMB IT ecosystem. Parallels APS 2.0 helps ISVs package and integrate their applications to the resources of Service providers, who then use Parallels Plesk Panel to distribute and manage the applications among various resellers, who finally use Parallels Reseller panels to channel them to the SMBs. This builds a very broad ecosystem that Parallels partners can leverage to generate revenue.
