Jelastic Platform Supports New Billing System – Parallels Business Automation Standard

3 Mins read

Jelastic, Inc., the creators of an ultra-scalable and interoperable Java hosting platform for cloud applications, announced support for the Parallels Business Automation Standard (PBAS), a fully integrated billing and hosting automation system for managing and scaling small and medium-size web hosting businesses. In addition to PBAS, Jelastic supports the Parallels Automation service delivery system (PA), which is aimed at larger providers, and can be integrated with any other billing system.

Jelastic (Java Elastic Cloud) is a next-generation platform for hosting Java applications in the Cloud. Its technology and innovation was recognized by Oracle with a Duke´s Choice Award (the highest honor in the Java world) at JavaOne (the world´s largest Java event). Jelastic enables its users to deploy Java apps to the Cloud easily, without any recoding or lock-in. Parallels is the hosting and cloud services enablement leader providing cloud enablement software to over 9000 service providers around the world and reaching more than 10 million SMBs.

The needs of hosting services providers are also taken into account. Jelastic offers three billing system options, one of which is the recently added Parallels Business Automation Standard (PBAS). It significantly streamlines online ordering, billing, service delivery and service management – the whole business cycle of the web hosting business. Aimed at small and medium-size hosting providers, PBAS is a very cost-effective billing solution that can be scaled up to tens of thousands of accounts.

Designed as a complete management system for Parallels Plesk Panel, Parallels Plesk Web Presence Builder and patented Parallels Virtuozzo Containers technologies, Parallels Business Automation Standard was the first available hosting automation software that managed all business aspects of shared hosting, VPS hosting, and dedicated hosting from a single management system. The billing system is fully integrated with automatic provisioning and management, while its flexibility allows billing for initial and recurring fees for hosting plans, resources, individual applications and custom services. Special promotions are also supported.

Hosting providers can use PBAS to maximize revenue by building resale channels, growing customer bases and offering value added services, which are easily packaged and automatically deployed. Another advantage is a significant reduction of costs due to automation of management tasks and operating in a virtual environment. It is important that the end users benefit from PBAS, too: bills can be paid directly from Jelastic´s dashboard, which is highly convenient. The system offers an auto-recharge option, billing history and many other useful features.

Parallels Automation (PA) is now also supported by Jelastic, which is aimed at larger hosting providers and can scale up to millions of accounts. PA has modular structure for growth and customization along with a more extensive feature set. Jelastic also allows for integration with any third-party billing system with its extensive set of APIs and addition of services though the application packaging standard (APS). “PAAS services are seeing explosive growth and hosters need to have a PAAS offering that is complete,” adds John Zanni, Vice President, Service Provider Marketing & Alliances, Parallels. “The integration of Java Elastic Cloud with Parallels service delivery systems gives them what they need to get to market today.”

“The mission of Jelastic is to become the ´Android´ of the PaaS market, enabling any hosting company around the world to become a PaaS provider,” says Dmitry Sotnikov, COO of Jelastic. “With this release, we are making it even easier for more hosting companies to deploy Jelastic and integrate it with their existing systems. Now, in addition to our billing APIs, we have out-of-the-box integration with PA and PBAS and are committed to even broader system support in the future.”
