DreamHost to Host First Ever DreamCon User Conference in August

2 Mins read

Web hosting provider DreamHost yesterday announced via twitter that it will host its first ever user conference at Los Angeles, called DreamCon. The dates for the conference are August 2nd & 3rd, with a welcoming reception to take place on the evening of the 1st. Also released was a video by Mr. Simon Anderson, CEO, DreamHost regarding the same.

Whether you’re a blogger, a hardcore software developer, a WordPress nut, a DreamObjects pro, an Internet entrepreneur, or anything in between, we guarantee that DreamCon will have something you’ll want to see!

Although details provided till now are very sparse, DreamHost describes DreamCon as an intense two day session to help customers get the most out of their DreamHost experience. DreamHost said that most of the seminars will be taught by its own “subject matter experts” – the employees! The conference promises to cater a wide array of audience, as given on the official website- “Whether you’re a blogger, a hardcore software developer, a WordPress nut, a DreamObjects pro, an Internet entrepreneur, or anything in between, we guarantee that DreamCon will have something you’ll want to see!”

Many other details, including schedule, agenda and speakers are yet to be disclosed, but DreamHost said users could “expect some special guest stars to also make appearances but it’s a little too soon to talk about those just yet.”

While DreamCon is the first effort by DreamHost to reach out to users and to get feedback to employees one-on-one, it runs on similar lines of “Reach Out and Touch You Tour” it hosted last year. The series of six events was held across Los Angeles, Portland, Chicago, Seattle, New York, and San Francisco for customers to meet some of its team and offer thoughts and ideas. DreamHost was also host and sponsor of some OpenStack Meetups throughout 2012, and recently started looking for users to organize “DreamUps”- “similar to meetups, but they’re only about, oh, a million times better.” DreamHost said on its blog.
