Domain Registrar Namecheap Announces SSL Reseller Program

2 Mins read

Namecheap, a domain name registration services that also sells web hosting and SSL certificates, has launched an SSL reseller program that automates the purchase of SSL certificates. Now, customers can partner with Namecheap to white label and resell SSL certificates at super low costs. The move comes a couple of weeks after NameCheap selected Onepager as its exclusive website builder for customers and launched annual MoveYourDomainDay to protect online freedom.

Combined with our SSL service offerings that we’ve had in place for several years, our SSL reseller program brings it to the next level, empowering those to sell SSL certificates directly and making substantial profits.
– Richard Kirkendall,CEO, Namecheap.

Offering a reseller program is beneficial to both hosting companies and their resellers, as it can greatly increase sales for web hosts while enabling resellers to providing added-value services at a lower cost to their own customers. The Reseller program pricing is built on a customer loyalty/rewards system, meaning that the more business customers do with Namecheap, the cheaper their buy prices become.

Namecheap continues to grow to be the biggest Internet-industry related business in the world with the addition of our SSL reseller program,” Richard Kirkendall, CEO ,Namecheap, said. “Combined with our SSL service offerings that we’ve had in place for several years, our SSL reseller program brings it to the next level, empowering those to sell SSL certificates directly and making substantial profits.”

The reseller program has 4 pricing levels, with each level having a qualifying total receipts threshold. A reseller’s total receipts is the sum total of all the business it has done with Namecheap, combined with the existing deposit in its Namecheap account. Namecheap will determine which SSL pricing level the reseller falls into. Level 1 resellers must have total receipts of $50 to $299 per year, Level 2 must have $300 to $1,499 per year, Level 3 must have $1,500 to $2,999 per year, and Level 4 must have more than $3,000 per year. The SSL reseller program has competetive pricing, no set up fees, a robust API, and efficient support, said Namecheap.
