Cybersecurity service provider BitNinja has announced that it will now officially support VzLinux.
A free operating system developed with and for the Linux community, VzLinux has been around for over 20 years now. Originally used as a guest operating system on the Virtuozzo VPS platform, it grew into one of the reliable clones for those who had to drop CentOS.
VzLinux plays an important role in virtualization. Virtualization is when you make a single physical machine acts like different virtual versions of itself. The software that does this-virtualization software-takes away layers from the physical hardware and simulates hardware functionality to create virtual machines. So, in other words, the server appears as several virtual servers. It can be used for many different purposes instead of just one. VzLinux, which is a supported guest OS under different hypervisors, can be used on just about any type of machine or system that you need it to be on.
Virtualization makes it possible to serve the needs of businesses that need to scale quickly. With virtualization, you can easily add or remove servers as needed to match the amount of capacity your business requires. This makes it easy for companies to have the right amount of servers and also keeps the cost down. Companies that use virtualization will see more value from their investments, like cost management, increased availability, workload portability, and scalability.
BitNinja had mentioned in its press release that it already supports most modern Linux distributions and with VzLinux, it will be able to offer frictionless security service that is compatible with multiple platforms.
“Although VzLinux can run on other platforms besides Virtuozzo VPS, this development was a priority because of its importance to one of our strategic partners – Virtuozzo! We believe that the complex challenge of internet security can only be tackled with a deep understanding of stakeholders and by building strategic partnerships that enhance crucial synergies. Together with our partners, we put a lot of effort into shaping the product”, said BitNinja in its press release.
