Acronis Cyber Infrastructure allows organizations to meet modern IT demands with a multi-tenant, hyper-converged infrastructure solution for cyber protection. With this, you can reduce the total cost of ownership and maximize productivity. It works with Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud services and ensures disaster recovery for your business by storing all the data in an easy, efficient and secure way.
The latest release of Acronis Cyber Infrastructure is designed to fit your changing business needs and optimize the product’s security, and manageability.
This release offers a wide range of new features that will improve service providers’ interoperability. The improvements include backup storage, the user interface, and compute services and deliver stability improvements. It also addresses issues present in previous releases.
Here’s what is new in this release:
Backup storage:
- With the new release, you can now create multiple registrations of backup storage in different partner tenants, Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud datacenters, or in Acronis Cyber Protect management servers.
User interface:
- The object storage screens are now redesigned using the new framework to make the user interface more consistent and improve the user experience. Object storage integration with Acronis Notary has been removed.
- It is now possible to easily copy important text information like emails and IP addresses from the admin panel to other applications.
Installer:
- The mandatory requirement to have at least two drives, for system and storage types, in the expert mode has been removed in the latest release. You can continue the installation, only one drive for booting.
Compute service:
- The new release supports an upgrade to Kubernetes version 1.22 and a clean installation of Kubernetes version 1.23. Now Kubernetes load balancers are created and highly available by default. An option to boot virtual machines in the UEFI mode has been added. There is IPv6 support for load balancers. Troubleshooting for Kubernetes clusters is now improved and simplified. The default quota for new projects is now configurable.
- Compute services can be used in production environments for all eligible Acronis products and services, with this release. Other than this, compute services are available for evaluation purposes only.
Transport Layer Security (TLS) upgraded to version 1.2:
- The latest data-in-transit encryption protocol and ciphers can be used while working with Acronis Cyber Infrastructure. A manual switch to the previous version is possible, however, it is not recommended, as connections to the backup storage will only be accepted from agents with the TLS 1.2 version.
To upgrade to Acronis Cyber Infrastructure 5.0 to 5.1, in the admin panel, go to SETTINGS > UPDATE. Reboot to complete the upgrade. Upgraded nodes will be restarted automatically one at a time. During the restart, the storage service and the admin panel might not work on cluster configurations without the redundancy of services or data.
