Acronis, a global leader in hybrid cloud data protection, celebrated three years of opening its International Headquarters in Singapore. Acronis was founded in 2003 in Singapore, with a vision of developing innovative data protection solutions for service providers, businesses and consumers.
From then, the company has witnessed continuous growth, and it is now the largest software and internet services company in Singapore, servicing global market. The company had moved its headquarters to Singapore in 2014, with its Corporate Headquarters in Schaffhausen, Switzerland.

Acronis has set up a global R&D center in Singapore and has built partnerships with research organizations and local universities. It has also participated in joint projects with Data Storage Institute and NTU, with the support of Singapore Economic Development.
In the R&D center, it develops unique technology to provide data protection for businesses of different sizes and individual users as well. This includes Acronis hybrid cloud architecture that provides comprehensive data management abilities, AI-based ransomware protection with ability of blocking zero-day cyber-attacks and blockchain based data certification.
These technologies helped Acronis witness growth in its business across all product lines. Acronis Backup has seen a growth of 25%, Acronis True Image business witnessed 20% growth and there has been a remarkable 100% growth in Acronis Backup Cloud solution for service providers in last year itself.
It is also the first Singaporean company to sponsor a Formula 1 Team – Scuderia Toro Rosso (STR), and the drivers and team’s key members joined in the celebrations.

Acronis is planning to add more than 100 staff, and apply for over 100 new patents with an investment of $10 million in AI research projects.
