North American solutions company Softchoice yesterday announced that it plans to begin offering VMware vCloud Hybrid Service across the United States and Canada.
The new service offering is aimed at providing clients with a common platform that spans private and public clouds, thereby enabling organizations to scale their IT infrastructure dynamically using the VMware management tools and infrastructure.
Softchoice Solution Architects and Professional Services engineers will assist clients by providing consultations on the vCloud environment, an overview of pathways to adoption, and hands-on support with respect to the migration of virtual data center infrastructure.
“vCloud is an ideal fit with our focus on providing clients with a number of cloud-ready solutions,” said David MacDonald, CEO, Softchoice.
“Hybrid cloud solutions like this are making it simpler, more cost-effective and less risky for organizations to enhance the performance of their business through the cloud,” he added.
Other cloud-ready offering of Softchoice are access to public infrastructure-as-a-service offerings, Softchoice Cloud – a proprietary platform that provides centralized procurement, deployment, management and support across more than 50 Software-as-a-Service applications.
“Whether you’re looking to build high-availability infrastructure, or need to expand existing data centers, vCloud delivers new levels of flexibility, reliability and ease of use,” said Steve McDonald, Director of Business Development, Data Center and Hybrid Cloud Solutions, Softchoice.
“The fact that vCloud is built upon the same platform many of our customers already use means a faster route to the cloud without the need for additional infrastructure investments or changes to the way they manage existing applications,” he added.
