Radix Registry launched completely free and non-binding pre-registrations for .host domain names earlier this week at HostingCon.
Radix will keep those who pre-register for a .host domain informed of the launch process by furnishing personalized reminders. It will also offer discounts and special deals, increasing the odds that a pre-registered name will be granted.
A new TLD created specifically for the hosting industry, .host is one of three uncontested strings that Radix applied for, the other two being .press and .space.
Ideal for web hosts, ASPs, ISVs, cloud service providers, data centers and other entities within the web hosting industry, .host offers domain names short, memorable domain names with increased search efficiency, and better categorization and branding for the hosting community.
“The hosting industry is one of the most internet dependent industries, with a majority of its lead generation, marketing and customer engagement activities taking place online, ” said Mr. Bhavin Turakhia, Founder, Chairman & CEO, Radix Registry
“We were really surprised to find out that we were sole applicants for such a powerful extension. The team worked extra hard to move up our pre-registration and make it coincide with Hostingcon,” he added.
An active participant in ICANN’s process to expand the Internet naming system, Radix Registry is a Directi Business aiming to secure rights to operate several new generic top-level domains.
