Mark Zbikowski, former Microsoft Architect and software developer with three decades long industry experience, today joined Jelastic as a Senior Technical Advisor. In this job role, Mark will assist Jelastic as a resource to the development team and advisor to senior management.

Zbikowski holds a bachelor´s degree from Harvard in applied mathematics and master´s degrees from Yale and the University of Washington.
In past, he spearheaded efforts in MS-DOS, made significant contributions to OS/2, Windows NT and Cairo. He was development lead and manager for Microsoft’s MS-DOS 2.0, a position he held through DOS 4.0.
His first major contributions were the addition of hierarchical directory structure to DOS 2.0 and installable device drivers. He also designed the DOS executable file format.
Zbikowski was Microsoft’s first employee (excluding Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer) to be honored for 25 years of service in 2006. The breakthrough concept of Installable File System in OS/2 is attributed to him.
He is also one of the key developers of Windows NTFS and Windows 2000/XP/Vista.
