NTT DATA, a leader in digital business and IT services, has announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire Niveus Solutions, a leading cloud engineering company specializing in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services. This acquisition marks a significant step in NTT DATA’s strategy to enhance its cloud offerings and meet the growing global demand for transformative cloud solutions.
Once finalized, the acquisition will add 1,000 GCP engineering professionals to NTT DATA’s team, boosting its Google Cloud Business Unit. These experts, skilled in GCP native modernization, data engineering, and artificial intelligence (AI), will strengthen NTT DATA’s position as a top global system integrator for Google Cloud.
Niveus Solutions brings deep expertise in key industries such as financial services, manufacturing, automotive, retail, and logistics. This strategic addition will enable NTT DATA to deliver highly specialized, industry-specific cloud platforms and solutions, accelerating the development of customized use cases that address complex client challenges on a global scale.
Charlie Li, Head of Cloud and Security Services at NTT DATA, highlighted the significance of the acquisition, stating, “The acquisition of Niveus Solutions will firmly position us as a leading Google Cloud powerhouse, propelling NTT DATA as one of the world’s largest system integrator partners for Google Cloud. With Niveus Solutions, we are set to redefine possibilities in the AI-driven cloud era, enabling clients to accelerate digital transformations and achieve meaningful business outcomes across industries and geographies.”
This move also builds on NTT DATA’s recently expanded strategic partnership with Google Cloud, which focuses on co-innovating data analytics and GenAI solutions for enterprise clients. The expanded alliance will leverage NTT DATA’s industry expertise and cloud solutions on GCP, delivering innovative, scalable, and secure solutions tailored to specific industry needs.
The acquisition comes as global demand for cloud services is expected to surge. According to Gartner, worldwide end-user spending on public cloud services is projected to reach $679 billion in 2024, with a forecast to exceed $1 trillion by 2027. GenAI deployments across industries are set to further accelerate this growth, reinforcing the importance of NTT DATA’s expanded cloud capabilities.
The transaction is expected to close within the next 30 to 60 days, pending customary closing conditions.
