QTS and AWS agree to deploy core AWS network infrastructure and services in three QTS mega data centers

QTS Realty Trust has announced that they are expanding their connectivity ecosystem by providing more robust alternatives to the often constrained, traditional metro interconnect facilities. As part of this expansion, Amazon Web Services (AWS) deployed components in support for wide variety of services at QTS’s mega data centers in Chicago, Atlanta, and Piscataway, NJ.

QTS has signed a long-term, multimegawatt agreement with AWS to provide high density colocation in its data centers that serve as key ingress/egresses points for customers and partners accessing services from AWS. The new deployments support scalable network connectivity to AWS customers at all times through QTS’ mega sites ensuring dedicated space, power and fiber diversity to AWS for efficient planning while also providing sustainable growth over time. With its expanding ecosystem, QTS will support AWS’ Internet peering infrastructure and global backbone.

QTS’ mega data centers bring together a unique suite of services for those seeking to expand their enterprise or hyperscale operations. They offer carrier-neutral cloud interconnection, access the world’s largest IP networks, redundant transport paths and multiple dark and lit fiber providers as well!

The AWS regional deployment also aligns with the QTS vision for decentralized network architecture, out of a handful or increasingly congested internet nexus points and into new highly connected data centers in major US markets.
