Acronis has released the new version of its leading cyber protection solution—Acronis True Image 2020. With the update, Acronis aims to help customers protect all their data, apps, and systems by automatically replicating local backups in the cloud.
Acronis True Image is an AI-powered software product that provides data protection to enterprises, helping them to keep data safe, accessible, private, authentic and secure.
The new version of Acronis True Image comes with over 100 improvements and new features to enable greater protection and control. The most notable new feature is the dual protection that makes True Image the first personal solution to automate the 3-2-1 backup rule of data protection.
The 3-2-1 backup rule states—Create 3 copies of your data (one primary and two backups) … Store the copies in at least 2 types of storage media… Store 1 of these copies offsite (in the cloud).
“With a subscription to Acronis True Image, the Dual Protection feature will guarantee that you’ll have a reliable off-site backup available for recovery no matter what,” explained Peter Hale, Senior Content Marketing Manager at Acronis, in a blog post.
“No more managing two backups or losing time to run them separately. With Dual Protection, your local backup and cloud replication occur simultaneously, making it easy and efficient.”

There is a new Tray Notifications Center that notifies users about the status of backups, and news to improve cybersecurity practices.
Acronis True Image 2020 is now powered with new backup technologies that can improve the backup speeds by at least 50% as compared to the previous version. The browsing of files in the cloud backups will also be faster.
Users will now be able to control the Wi-Fi connections over which the backup runs. This will help in avoiding the unsecured public networks that can be risky for the data.
True Image 2020 also allows users to control the running of backups when the laptops are running on battery power.
The company said that the new version will also prevent illicit service termination attacks. It will provide reports to the users about why some processes were flagged or blocked as malicious.
“Considering how much we rely on data today, our digital assets have never been more valuable. But that use also means we’re dealing with more data and more devices than ever before. Protecting it all from the ever-growing risk of cyberthreats presents a few challenges – such as increased complexity, security, and cost concerns,” said Serguei “SB” Beloussov, founder and CEO of Acronis.
“By making comprehensive cyber protection easy, efficient and secure, Acronis can help individuals ensure all of their data is protected.”
Acronis True Image 2020 is now generally available with three versions—Standard, Advanced, and Premium.
