Just after coming back from the Christmas and new year holidays, the Windows folks have released the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18309 (19H1).

The new version brings a number of new interesting features including revamped Windows Hello PIN reset experience, password-less signing in to Windows, creating password-less phone number account, and more.

Microsoft is bringing streamlined Windows Hello PIN reset experience to all editions of Windows 10. Earlier it was available only on the Windows 10 Home edition.

“We know remembering a PIN can be tricky, so we wanted to provide our Microsoft account users with a revamped Windows Hello PIN reset experience with the same look and feel as signing in on the web. Check it out in today’s build by clicking the ‘I forgot my PIN’ link when signing in to Windows with a PIN,” explained Microsoft in a blog post.

Second, the tech giant will allow Windows 10 users to sign in to Windows with password-less Microsoft accounts. When the company released Build 18305, Windows 10 Home editions allowed setting up and signing in using a phone number account, without creating password.

For setting up the account, users need to use the SMS code sent to number registered with Microsoft account. Once set up is done, users can choose to sign in using Windows Hello Face, Fingerprint or a PIN.

Further, users can now create password-less phone number account in a mobile app like Word for iOS or Android. This account can now be used for signing in to Windows. For this, they will need to add the account to Windows from Settings option.

In November last year, the tech giant had added support for YubiKey 5 and Windows Hello to its services, to allow users log in to their accounts without any password.

The Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18309 also comes with several updates to Narrator. These updates include addition of more voices without downloading language packs, Narrator Home navigation, and a new command for rendering current character phonetics.
