SAP SE announced updates to its SAP Vora, to simplify deployment on public cloud using Kubernetes, and increase flexibility while migrating between cloud, on-premises and hybrid deployment models.
SAP Vora’s new version now adopts container technology to deliver SAP Vora as a container, and utilizes Kubernetes to simplify the deployment and cluster management on public cloud infrastructure. The number of organizations moving Big Data workloads to the cloud is continuously increasing, and the SAP Vora aims to provide flexibility to the customers to choose from cloud, hybrid deployment, and on-premise models. The customers can also migrate between these options with minimum disruption.
“We are bringing together data transformation and business transformation on the same platform, uniting structured data and computed unstructured data to change the way businesses plan, scale and innovate,” said Greg McStravick, president of SAP Database and Data Management.
The distributed computing capabilities of SAP Vora will also benefit the live customer cloud service on SAP Data Network, to efficiently process large data volumes and highlight business insights in real-time. The combination of big data, machine learning and analytics in live customer cloud service on SAP Data Network increases the business value for the customers.

SAP Vora now provides an enhanced monitoring framework, supports Apache Spark2.x, and optimized connectivity with SAP HANA platform.
It will also support Azure Data Lake, and Amazon Simple Storage Device.
