SoftLayer Achieves Record Setting Revenues For Third Quarter

DAILYHOSTNEWS, December 3, 2011 – SoftLayer Technologies has announced that the company continued to experience strong operational and top-line growth in the third quarter of 2011, reaching $85 million in revenues while achieving $34 million in EBITDA. The company also appointed David Strohm, from Greylock Partners, to its board of directors to help guide and support the company’s continued market leadership and financial growth.

Key milestones for SoftLayer’s third quarter ending September 30, 2011 include:

  • $85 million revenue
  • $34 million EBITDA
  • Expansion into Asia-Pacific (via Singapore) and Europe (via Amsterdam)
  • More than 100,000 servers under management

David Strohm joins SoftLayer’s board of directors to help provide guidance over the company’s future growth plans. A Silicon Valley veteran, David joined Greylock in 1980 and currently sits on the board of AtHoc, Bounty Jobs, EMC Corporation, MATRIXX Software, OpenDNS, Progreso Financiero, richrelevance, Tabula and VMware. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the Harvard Business School.

Mr. Strohm led Greylock’s prior involvement with companies including Doubleclick, Forte Software (acquired by Sun Microsystems), Kiva Software (acquired by Netscape), Legato Systems (acquired by EMC), Internet Security Systems (acquired by IBM), Mentor Graphics, Mobile Automation (acquired by iPass), ccMail (acquired by Lotus/IBM), and Cygnus (acquired by RedHat).
