Managed hosting and cloud provider INetU today that Scott Walters has been named Director of Security and will now be responsible for the Company’s Security Operations Center (SOC), compliance audits and certifications.
The news comes a few days after INetU announced major enhancements to its Client Center, including dynamic virtual scaling, the ability to add unmanaged virtual machines and available access through an Application Programming Interface (API).
Under his new role, Walters will be responsible for:
- Data and network security.
- Scaling the Security Operations Center (SOC) team.
- Overseeing INetU’s compliance audits and maintain certifications, such as SSAE 16, ISAE 3402, SOC 2, SOC 3 and PCI DSS.
- Working with INetU Labs in the development of new security products and services.

Walters holds a BA from Lehigh University, with Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) credentials.
Prior to joining INetU, he consulted for Mack Trucks, a subsidiary of Volvo AB. He also led an international security team for the Unix platform, establishing security systems, baselines and policies for all Unix systems that were used by the worldwide Volvo Group business units.
Walters joined INetU in 2007. He has been instrumental in shaping INetU’s client services department, which provides customer onboarding and lifecycle support.
He served INetU as director of client services and expanded the department to meet customer needs as the company introduced new cloud products, enhanced service levels for enterprise customers and most recently released the robust INetU Security Suite.
“As a result of ever increasing threats and more complex compliance demands, information security is becoming a progressively more difficult proposition for businesses to manage alone,” said Scott Walters.
“Part of my work as director of security will be to foster the technology we use to provide secure environments for our customers and provide the oversight and accountability they expect,” he added.
When asked about the importance of his new role going forward, Walters said, “Our customers would tell you it’s the most important part of the relationship.”
